The students of Brebeuf College School hosted their 8th Annual Social Justice Symposium at the University of St. Michael’s College recently. Over 250 students and teachers from across Toronto came to learn more about the conference’s theme: “Keen to Be Green: Ecological Justice.” This topic was partly inspired by the Presentation Brothers’ environmental message discussed at their Chapter during the summer.

Coláiste Chríost Rí are All-Ireland Senior Science ChampionsColáiste Chríost Rí in Turner’s Cross in Cork city has won the 2011 ISTA All-Ireland Senior Science Quiz. The Cork students came out the best of 36 teams at the Final held in Trinity College Dublin. In all, over 600 school teams from around the country took part in the series which was sponsored by PharmaChemical Ireland.

Special Mass in Cobh to mark departure of BrothersA special Mass has been held in St Colman's Cathedral in Cobh to honour the service of the Presentation Brothers to education in the town. The Congregation will no longer have a community of Brothers in the town with the closure of their house on Bishop Street.
The Mass, organised by staff and students of Coláiste Muire and Scoil Iosaef Naofa, was also attended by parents and local well wishers.

Parade College staff visit Presentation BrothersStaff from Parade College in Melbourne visited Mount St Joseph recently as part of a pilgrimage to Ireland. Parade College is a member of the Edmund Rice Education Australia (EREA) network of schools.
The group of eight included Principal Br. Denis Moore CFC and was led by Andy Kuppe, Assistant Principal. Andy spent a number of years as Director of the Mount Sion Heritage Centre in Waterford.

Animal Cruelty Awareness in Pres BrayStudents at Presentation College Bray have been busy over the past few weeks preparing a mural which focuses attention on cruelty to animals.
Under the supervision of their art teacher, Mr Rooney, the students produced a dramatic sequence of images and quotes relating to the issue.
The mural was produced by 27 Transition Year students as part of their project for the Young Social Innovators.

Presentation Brothers College Grenada celebrates awards successThere have been celebrations at Presentation Brothers College (PBC) in Grenada after two of its past students achieved top awards for academic achievement.
Oliver Maynard was awarded the T A Marryshow Cup Memorial Award for attaining the highest scores in the 2010 CXC Examinations.
Ryan S K Gittens was awarded the A A La Grenada Award for receiving the highest scores in technical and vocational subjects.

Fundraising Gala in CanadaA special fundraising party will take place at Brebeuf College on Friday, February 4th from 8pm to 1am. The cost is $20 and includes finger food, desserts and live entertainment. There will be a cash bar and a silent auction. All proceeds will help defray the cost of the upcoming student trip to Ghana and help support the Presentation Brothers' feeding programme at two of their schools in the region. It promises to be a fun night for all!
