Brother Robert Fanovich, our vocations director in the West Indies, found an unusual way of linking young people with the Gospel when he organised a Gospel Hip Hop/breakdancing competition in Grenada recently.

"Four schools took part in the contest," he explains. "The participating schools each chose a Gospel hip hop song and danced to it on the day. The winning school was St. Rose Modern Secondary School. It's interesting that of the 22 participants, there were 20 boys and 2 girls.

"The competition is a first for Grenada and already the young people are asking for more! We also had a guest appearance by a group of young men in their early twenties who heard about the competition and wanted to perform as guest artists.  These young men are construction workers.  It was great to see our own school, Presentation Brothers College, participating too."
