Ten Years of Preslink

Date: 12 May 2016

Venue: Mount St Joseph, Cork

Recently, the PresLink initiative celebrated its 10th anniversary. PresLink has done so much to educate students on developing world issues and to raise funds for the Presentation Brothers' missions over the last decade.

Congregation Leader Br Martin Kenneally recently met the 4th Year Student Committee in Presentation Brothers College Cork to thank them. The students presented Br Martin with a very large cheque for just under €17,000! These funds were raised by the students themselves from a range of very enjoyable and creative events.

Br Martin also hosted a dinner in Mount St Joseph for the PresLink Mentors, who are each staff members from the College. At this dinner, former PresLink student - and current medical student in UCC - Art Kelleher spoke. Art spoke movingly of how PresLink had nurtured in him the values of Edmund Rice, especially a compassion for those in need. He said this had been a significant influence on his choice of medicine.

PresLink continues to have a great influence on the lives of everyone it touches - not only those for whom the funds are raised, but for the Presentation Brothers College Cork students who are involved and give so much of their energy to it. A sincere thanks must also go to the PresLink Mentors for their hard work and dedication to the project.

We wish them well for the coming decades!
