Tragic death of two Presentation Sisters

Date: 15 Aug 2014

Brother Martin Kenneally, our Congregation Leader, and Brother Andrew Hickey, the Leader of our Anglo-Irish Province, have expressed sympathy to the Presentation Sisters on the tragic loss of two sisters in Co. Kerry.

Sister Imelda Carew and Sister Paula Buckley lost their lives in a swimming accident last night (Thursday 14th August 2014).

Brother Martin writes:

Please pray for the repose of the souls of Srs. Imelda Carew and Paula Buckley and for the consolation of their Sisters, relatives and friends.

Sisters Imelda (Province Leader of the South East Province) and Paula (Kilmahuddrick community, Dublin) had both held prominent roles in leadership and various other ministries. They would be well known to many of the Presentation Brothers in Ireland, particularly those who have been involved in collaboration between our two Congregations.

I spoke with Sr. Mary Deane, Congregation Leader of the Presentation Sisters early this morning.  I conveyed the deepest sympathy of the Presentation Brothers and our extended Family at this very sad time.  I assured her of our prayers and support.

Please continue to remember all those involved, in your prayers, in the coming days.

May the God of all consolation be close to them at this sad and difficult time.

Requiescant in pace.
