Two young men have been received into the postulancy programme at our International Novitiate in Killarney!

We warmly welcome Colins Thirugnanaseelan (24) and Duglus M. William J.M. (22) who both come from Sri Lanka. Postulancy is the first stage of their formation with the Presentation Brothers.

The Brothers in Killarney welcomed and accepted Colins and Duglus during a solemn liturgy in the community Chapel on Monday, 19th May 2014.

Br. Barry Noel, Director of Novices, accepted the promises made by the two postulants and welcomed them into the Presentation Family. He encouraged them to embrace their call to Religious Brotherhood wholeheartedly with joy and enthusiasm.

During the ceremony both men were presented with a copy of the sacred scriptures, from which they will find the fundamental values for life,  a set of rosary beads which will help them to draw inspiration from the life and example of Mary, our Mother; and finally, an insignia pin of the Congregation which they are invited to wear proudly.

Colins is a native of Valipadu and Duglus is from Mannarin, both in the north of Sri Lanka.

"Colins and Duglus have made a journey across the continents as an adventure in faith and in hope," Brother Barry said. "They are showing a great willingness and openness to serve all God’s people as Presentation Brothers!

"For the Presentation Brothers this new life in the Congregation is an affirmation of the relevance of Brotherhood in our world and we are still blessed with new and young vocations."
