Happy Birthday Brother Philip!

Brother Philip Giroux, the oldest living Brother in the Congregation of the Presentation Brothers, has just turned 94. Brother Philip is a Canadian by birth and is currently living in Toronto.

Br. Francis Schafer, the Province Leader of the Our Lady of the Americas Province, along with Br. Henry Spencer and Br. Denis Claivaz visited Br. Philip to mark this milestone.

Br. Denis tells us that, "Br. Philip was able to read his birthday greetings without the assistance of spectacles and glanced through some school yearbooks from the 1970’s that were brought along for the occasion.

"From his knowing comments it was clear that Philip was re-living some very special moments from his illustrious career as a Presentation Brother, teacher and administrator.

"He proudly commented that Br. Martin, the Congregation Leader, had earlier called to offer his congratulations. You could tell how much this meant to him by the way the news was recounted. An assortment of fruit and a little chocolate topped up his day.

Brother Philip continues to pray for the new venture in Toronto. “Vocations, Vocations, Vocations” is the catch-word of each visit!"

We wish Brother Philip every blessing and happiness on his birthday.
